Sunday Morning Worship
What does it truly mean to be part of the body of Christ? Romans 12 takes us on a journey from the grand call of sacrifice in verse one, through the transforming work of a renewed mind in verse two, and into the deeply practical question of verse three: how do we think about ourselves and our role in God's family? The passage makes clear that a transformed mind is the mind of a servant, one that does not ask what the church can do for us, but rather what we can contribute to the whole. Every one of us has been dealt a measure of faith and a unique gifting, as individual as our fingerprints, and God intends for those gifts to be put to work. The body of Christ is not a country club where membership is an entry fee for personal benefit. It is a living organism where every part, no matter how visible or hidden, is essential. When we understand that even the most unseen acts of service, the swept floor, the scrubbed room, the quiet word of encouragement, are performed for the King of Kings, the entire nature of belonging changes. We move from attending, to faithfulness, to purpose-filled service, and each step brings us deeper into the life God designed for us.
